Well, after an 8 point loss to the now 9-37 New York Knicks, I took to twitter for another of my signature rants about the team I love so dear.
I started off by calling out the team for lackluster defense, as well as our deplorable coaching staff.
Then I decide to make sure my point was getting across.
I tweeted at reigning MVP, Kevin Durant, calling out the injury plagued thunder star for sitting out due to, a toe injury?
Durant is my favorite basketball player, always has been. Watching him transition from Montrose Christian to Texas and then the NBA, really an amazing thing to see.
Well, after I tweeted what I did, I expected Kevin to publicly humiliate me like most athletes do, or to block me.
He did neither.
I had shut my phone off and proceeded to work on my College Psychology class.
My phone buzzed a few times. I opened twitter back up, and to my suprise, I had a Direct message from Durant himself.
To protect both his privacy and my own, I will paraphrase what he said,
Basically, Kevin understood why me and other thunder fans alike are upset, even he is too. He can't run, jump, or even walk straight. It's serous pain. If we really cared about him, we wouldn't criticize, but rather lift him up with our love and support.
So to my fellow Thunder fans, let's keep the hatred and negativity away from Kevin, because he doesn't deserve it. Injury is apart of the game, and it's a factor that is out of even his control.
So spread love and support to our MVP, because he really needs it at this time.
