We all are aware of Scott O'Gallagers decision to leave EA, but we didn't expect a retreat over to the oposition. OG left midway through production of EA Sports classic franchise "NBA Live", after what he deemed "difference in opinions". OG later changed his twitter bio, and you know the rest.
But did OG leave because of a difference in opinion, or was it because Damian Lillard, being compulsive, took over OG's department?
O'Gallager, who has played professional basketball overseas, is the foundation behind bouncetek. He reinvented the wheel, implementing a futuristic feature that has no ceiling as far as getting better.
Lillard is a current NBA player for the Portland Trailblazers. Like OG, he is also a point guard who can facilitate the rock, as well as take over games, such as his franchise record 26 points in a quarter. This may have but heads. Ea likely saw that OG and Lillard, with a combined basketball IQ that's vastly extensive, could help implement better ways for off ball movement, as well as fluidity in dribbling and other key assets for both sides of the ball. For OG, this must have been like spitting in his face. Taking back seat to someone else, and having to share credit. We know Lillard is compulsive, so him taking over a project and not allowing input is a very likely scenario.
Well whatever It may be, it happened.
NBA Live 15 will be delayed 3 weeks until October 28, which gives EA plenty of time to polish the game and allow the noise of NBA 2K15 to simmer down a bit.
